Circular UV Filters

UV filters are used to protect the lens from impacts, harsh weather conditions, and to prevent UV light from reaching the sensor. Light wavelengths below 395nm can cause a slight bluish cast in daytime shots with strong light. NiSi offers three lines of UV filters to meet the needs of all photographers, whether professional or amateur.

Available in sizes ranging from 37mm to 105mm, NiSi screw-in UV filters are made from ultra-high-quality optical glass, ensuring not even the smallest detail in your images is lost.

• The Glass: When placing an optical element in front of your lens, it’s crucial to ensure it’s of the highest quality to avoid compromising the performance of your lens. All NiSi UV filters provide protection without impacting the optical quality of your lens.
• The Structure: NiSi UV filters are built using aluminium (UV UHC Filter and Armor FX PRO) or brass (UV HT HUC MC Filter and NiSi Air ULRC UV Filter). These materials offer different advantages in terms of lightweight design, smooth operation, durability, and longevity.
• Durability: UV filters are typically considered “sacrificial filters,” designed to absorb impacts through their own breakage to protect your valuable lens. For more extreme applications, we recommend the Armor FX PRO filter, which provides protection against even violent impacts without breaking.
• Coatings: In addition to UV protection, all NiSi UV filters feature anti-reflective coatings to prevent unwanted effects like flare or ghosting. The UV HT HUC MC Filter also has hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings, while the latest NiSi Air ULRC UV Filter boasts an impressive 48 layers of protection, eliminating 99.9% of reflectivity. It is perfectly compatible with cameras featuring sensors over 100 megapixels, ensuring no loss of sharpness.

Choose your NiSi UV Filter

Caution: Stacking screw-in circular filters is not recommended. While the filters feature front threading, 100% compatibility between stacked filters cannot be guaranteed.
If you are using a circular ND filter or other filters like a Polariser, Black Mist, or similar, we recommend removing the UV filter to avoid vignetting with wide-angle focal lengths. This is because the primary purpose of a UV filter is to protect the front elements of the lens, and when other filters are in use, they will serve as the protective layer.
