NiSi Explorer Collection 100x100mm ND1000 (3.0) 10 Stop Filter
NiSi neutral density (ND) filters are the ideal tool for managing light in the field. Thanks to the wide range of densities available, NiSi ND filters allow you to extend shutter speeds even in bright conditions. Managing light with ND Filters allows you to have a fourth way to control exposure (in addition to ISO, time and aperture). The ND1000 10 Stop NiSi 100×100 filter reduces the light by 1000 times without altering the colours, therefore it allows to lengthen the shutter speed 1000 times (for example from 1/1000″ to about 1″, or from 1/30″ to about 30″).
ND1000, 3.0 and 10 stops are different ways to indicate the light absorption value of the filter in question.
Construction
The NiSi Explorer Collection 100x100mm Nano IR Neutral Density filter – ND1000 (3.0) – 10 Stop is part of our Explorer Series for made for adventure. The filters feature a special glass hardening process that makes them double the strength of a typical glass filter. The Explorer series are much less prone to accidental breakage and perfect for active photographers.
Neutral density (ND) filters uniformly reduce the amount of light entering the lens. ND Filters can enable greater motion blurring and image detail by allowing a large aperture and a slow shutter speed. ND filters are also helpful when the contrast between the highlights and shadows is too high to get a quality exposure. The ND1000 10 Stop is used during the day outside of golden hour as the bright ambient light requires much more ‘light blocking’. These can prolong exposures for up to 5 minutes during golden hour with the appropriate settings.
NiSi ND filters do not affect the colouration of the image, offer a true to life colour and are made from high-quality optical glass (not resin) with nano coating to prevent losing any single bit of detail. By using a neutral density filter the camera is vulnerable to infrared light which will cast the unwanted red colour to the photos when shooting at a small aperture. NiSi ND filters have an infrared protection coating layer to eliminate the infrared light through the lens to bring back the natural true to life colour.
The NiSi 100mm filter system is great for cameras with lenses that have a standard filter thread from 49 mm to 95mm.
This 100x100mm filter is compatible with the NiSi 100mm filter system.
Unique on the market
Thanks to the very high chromatic correspondence and absence of dominant colours, you can finally say goodbye to impractical and time-consuming colour corrections in post-production. NiSi filters do not degrade the image and your lens and photographic sensor will always work at the maximum of their potential. The NiSi Explorer Collection is made from B270 tempered glass. It features the same Nano coating process as our optical glass filters. This filter is tempered and hardened making it much less prone to accidental damage but this does not mean it is unbreakable. After a long period of time, the hardening may decline.
Weatherproof
The Nano® Coating treatment gives the filter the quality of repelling water and oils, making cleaning very easy even in extreme conditions or with the presence of seawater. The finishing of the edges and the rounded corners improve the resistance of the filter and the grip. Our filters and holders are born to be used outdoors, in any weather situation, enjoy photography in its purest essence.
