How JetMag Pro magnetic filters work?

The NiSi JetMag Pro is a magnetic filter system; you don’t need to screw-on filters, but everything starts with a simple adapter ring.
NiSi JetMag Pro filters are not available in any size. Thanks to the magnetic adapter ring, you can buy the filter in the biggest size you need, and then adapt it. To avoid unnecessary expenses, we created three main sizes: 67mm, 82mm and 95mm.

Additionally, if you own either the Sony 14mm f/1.8 GM or the Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 lens, we have developed the MaxMag size.

Due to the built of the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art, the Sony 24-70mm GMII and the Canon RF 24-105mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z, there’s a visible vignette at 24mm up to 35mm when stacking 2 filters. This is due by the lens built and not to the JetMag Pro System itself.

1. Magnetic Ring sizes

The JetMag Pro magnetic adapter ring is threaded on one side (lens side) and magnetic on the other (filter side). On the magnetic side, there are three sizes available: 49mm, 67mm, 82mm, and 95mm. On the threaded side, it is available in various sizes starting from 49mm.

To choose the perfect version for you, check the largest lens you own. If it has an 82mm front filter thread, you can go with the adapter ring with an 82mm magnetic side. If you have a lens with an 86mm or 95mm thread, choose the 95mm version. You can always add additional adapter rings to reduce the thread size and use your 82mm or 95mm filter on all your lenses.

If instead you have lenses with filter threads from 67mm down to 49mm, we recommend the 67mm kits and single 67mm filters, with 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, and 62mm adapter rings.

Select Sony 14mm f/1.8 GM or Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 for MaxMag filters.

1.2 JetMag Pro – ProLock Luminous Adapter Ring

A premium upgrade for low-light shooting, the ProLock Luminous Adapter Ring features glow-in-the-dark lock markings for quick, easy alignment in the dark. Its extended locking area provides a more secure fit and added stability, making it ideal for night photography, astrophotography, videography and any setup where fast, reliable filter mounting is essential, especially for CPL and VND users. It is currently available only for 82mm magnetic rings, in 82mm, 77mm, 72mm, 67mm, and 58mm sizes.

2. Filters

Once you have the rings, you just need to add the filters you prefer!
You can choose between 67mm, 82mm, 95mm or MaxMag filters, accordingly to your initial ring size choice.

2.1 Coloured Filters for Black & White Photography

Designed for photographers who want to get the very best from black and white photography, these filters allow you to control contrast and tonal rendition directly at the moment of capture. They are available in Yellow, Orange and Red, in the 49mm size.

3. Front and Back Caps

We also offer front and back caps, aluminium-made, to assure your filters are always protected.
The front caps are also useful for keeping your rings attached to the lens. One front cap for each lens + ring you want to keep always ready to attach a JetMag filter.
Back caps are useful to protect one or more filters in your bag, use a front cap on one side of the filter and one back cap on the other.

4. Accessories

We offer some useful accessories for your Kit, cleaning equipment and bag.
We also offer a holder to use 100mm wide GND filters for extra flexibility in light management. Thanks to this add-on, you can use 1 GND filter (100x150mm) with your NiSi JetMag Pro 82mm or 95mm; the holder is designed to avoid vignetting with one JetMag ND filter, one True Color CPL and one GND.
