The Sigma 14mm f/1.8 Art is a lens with really interesting features: maximum aperture f/1.8 at the focal length of 14mm. We are talking about features that will make lovers of landscape, architecture and night photography very happy! For these photographic genres, the use of ND, GND, polariser and NiSi Natural Night filters is practically mandatory. For this reason NiSi has created a series of customised filter holder holders for the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 Art.
Sigma 14mm f/1.8 Filter Holder – Features
There are two NiSi filter holders for Sigma 14mm f/1.8; the classic 150mm filter holder and the NiSi S5. Both are made of CNC machined aeronautical aluminium, like all NiSi holders.
The classic holder has two slots for inserting 150mm wide filters, such as 150x150mm ND filters and 150x170mm GND filters. Naturally the holder is compatible with NiSi filters, but also with third parties filters of the same size and 2mm thickness and without vignette.
The NiSi S5 holder is the most advanced version of the 150mm NiSi filter holders and, thanks to the use of a custom adaptor, it is possible to attach the special polariser that is supplied with the holder. The kit comes complete with a bag to carry everything.
With two filter slots for 150mm filters, it is possible to use an ND or GND and a polariser at the same time (obviously without vignetting). This is ideal for landscape, nature, architectural and urban landscape photos. Furthermore, with the NiSi S5 it is possible to use the adapter ring to use the holder on lenses with 77mm or 82mm thread. And in the case of smaller lens threads, it is possible to use a third-party step up adapter ring.
The NiSi S5 holder for Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art is offered with standard Polariser (CPL PRO) and Landscape Polariser.
The Landscape polariser offers two main advantages compared to the kit with standard polariser:

- External Nano Coating (NC) treatment.
- Water-repellent and oleophobic for simple and precise cleaning
