What got you into photography?

Ben:

When I was maybe 13/14 years old I was bought a GoPro, and I used to make videos of myself mountain biking, or jumping into the sea, and this grew my love and passion for cameras, where I then took Photography in School. I then learned how to use and shoot film, and develop film into images, dodging and burning in a dark room, and this then fuelled my love for photography
Growing up in Lyme Regis, I was surrounded by beauty on the Jurassic Coast, so I soon began taking Photographs of the amazing Coastline, until people started wanting my images hung on their living room walls, and gradually over years it has turned into my career, and I couldn’t be happier! I started a YouTube channel a few years ago, and my love for video grew, and now in my day to day work I could be creating a video for a corporate business or taking photographs of the beautiful coastline, for a project for a client. My work is now so varied and I love it!

Talk me through your favourite shot with NiSi filters

Ben:

Path to Venus – This image is one of my favourite images taken using Nisi Filters, This was taken using the Nisi Swift System, Swift 4 Stop ND and the Swift CPL True Color. It consists of 2 Images.
One image of around 45 seconds exposure for the foreground and the sea, and then one image of the sky, with a quicker shutter speed, to make sure Venus is sharp. I absolutely love this image, it was taken about 1hr 20 mins before sunrise, and the blue hours tones are to die for, Venus lit up the scene, I actually thought it was the moon when I arrived, it was so bright!
Also, it’s a photograph of the Cobb in Lyme Regis, and it holds many happy memories for me, as I grew up in Lyme Regis.

Some of my most recent Videos which I used my Nisi Swift system, are on my Website here: https://benkapur.com/videography
